    Cambodia's Ministry of National Defense issues statement condemning Thailand for accusing Cambodia of shelling Laos, Thailand is malicious to Cambodia, misleading the international community. 




  (Phnom Penh): On July 26, 2025, Lieutenant General Maly Socheata, Undersecretary of State and Spokesperson of the Ministry of National Defense of Cambodia, announced that she strongly rejects and condemns the false and malicious accusations made by Thailand that Cambodia deliberately fired shells into Laos.

The Ministry of National Defense further stated in a statement that it strongly rejects and condemns the false and malicious accusations made by Thailand that Cambodia deliberately fired shells into Laos.
  

This baseless accusation reflects the flow of deception by the Thai military, which initially fabricated it to justify its unprovoked invasion of Cambodia and is now trying to mislead the international community by tarnishing Cambodia’s reputation.

Such irresponsible rhetoric is not only misleading but also inflames the danger, especially since the Lao authorities have not yet completed their investigation and have not yet issued such a statement. Cambodia demands that the Thai side immediately stop the disinformation campaign, which is only intended to cover up its own violations of international law.

In contrast to Thailand’s actions, Cambodia has never committed and will not violate the sovereignty of any neighboring state, including the Lao People’s Democratic Republic.

Cambodia reaffirms its commitment to respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all nations and affirms its readiness to provide full cooperation to the Lao People’s Army to investigate the above incident in a responsible, professional and transparent manner.
